Weird Experience at Work

Okay, so something totally weird happened to me at work today, and I can't stop thinking about it. I work at this retail store (not exactly PG, if you catch my drift), and it’s usually a cool time. But these two dudes came in and it got strange real fast. One was this mexican guy that dressed like an asshole, and the other, this is gonna sound weird, but he was this tall, long-haired blonde guy who looked like he stepped out of a Calvin Klein ad or something. Like, model-level hot. I have a girlfriend for the record.

Anyway, they weren’t asking about the usual stuff. They kept asking if this was a bookstore. After I answered them a few times this guy looked at me—like, straight into my soul or something—and started talking. And I swear, the second he opened his mouth, my brain short-circuited. I can’t explain it. Like, all of a sudden, I was thinking about how gorgeous he was, and it wasn’t just like “this guy’s attractive.” It was like… butterflies-in-your-stomach, romantic movie Pretty Woman music playing in my head feelings. FOR A DUDE. Which has, uh, never happened before. I have a girlfriend.

It must’ve fried my common sense because I—this is so embarrassing—wrote my number on his hand. He didn’t even ask for it! I just did it, like a total doofus, and then they left. I’m sitting here now like, what the hell just happened? The gay feelings are gone (I think), but I cannot stop cringing at myself. It’s like I was under some spell or something. Is this what people mean when they talk about "love at first sight"?

Thanks for clarifying that you have a girlfriend. I'm sure she'll understand the reasons for your infidelity now that "the gay feelings are gone".

Sometimes, someone just comes along that challenges all of our preconceived notions about ourselves. It's totally okay to swing both ways. There are way scarier things out there than being bisexual. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Hmm... this is very interesting. You're saying that once the guy left, all the butterflies and feelings just went away? Are you still thinking about him beyond just obsessing over what happened? Pretty sure love at first sight sticks around after they leave your eyeline. Do you want to see him again?
