Okay, after the thread for my investigation into my sister's old stuff seems to have been obliterated courtesy of the Coffee Incident, I'm going to try to put it back up with a number of redactions in an effort to keep it online. I'll also try to recap the situation and the information that we'd all gotten through so far, but if I'm entirely honest, some of it doesn't seem to have only disappeared from this forum. I also don't know how many of the people who were contributing to the thread are still around...

In better news, I've kept sifting through her old boxes and managed to come across a few new things I think might help get me a little closer to figuring all this out.

So, for the uninitiated:
About three years ago, early in 2022, my sister ████████████ up and moved out of the house in Krakow, the one she'd been living in since the new millennium, suddenly and without explanation. Left most of her stuff behind save for a suitcase and a bunch of her old TTRPG notes (TableTop Roleplaying Game, if you're unfamiliar). Now, that alone was weird enough and very much out of character, but then she phones me in the middle of the night a week later, apologizing for the disappearance, but pleading with me to bring half a craft store's supply of ██████. Obviously, it's an odd request on its own, but the thing is, she asked me to bring it to the corner of ██████████████████ in ████████████, which is obviously nowhere near Poland.

Now, I've been on this forum long enough to take a situation like this with extreme caution. I didn't go alone (██████'s still been helping, don't know if I'd be able to do all this without her), and I prepared as much protection as I could. When I got there, though, it was legit ████████████ ██████████████████, my sister. No demon wearing her face, no imposter tricking me into anything. She was in Vancouver, not far from where I lived at the time...or, at least, she sort of was? She was, but she wasn't. The best way I can describe it is like a hologram, but if a hologram was still you, could still be touched and talked to and interacted with, was still warm and physically present, even though you're actually somewhere far away. It's hard to explain what it was like. And of course, when it was all over, the ████████████ was gone.

It obviously really threw me, because as weird as she could be sometimes, ██████ never gave off the vibe of somebody that could actually be involved in anything supernatural. I don't know what she got up to between when our mother fled Poland with me, and when we finally got in contact again in 2001, but she just seemed like a normal woman, even if she majorly lucked out in the 'aging gracefully' department. But something like what happened that day was far too much to ignore, especially after everything I've seen being on this forum and in the circles I've found since then. If my little sister needed help, I wasn't about to let her do this alone, and neither was ██████.

And that's what got me looking into what was actually going on with her. I flew to Poland about two years ago, just before I posted the original version of this thread. Being her best friend from back in the old country, ██████ naturally knew how to get into my sister's apartment, so she was a big help. The two of us started looking around for anything that might give us a clue about where my sister was, what was happening to her, and what she was up to.

So that brings us to what we've found:

My sister has a lot of stuff. I genuinely don't know how she even found room for it all.

Those who joined the old thread probably remember the month-long discussion ruling out all of the non-supernatural explanations (thank you ██████ for the early onset dementia comment), the argument over whether it was actually my sister or not, and nobody being able to quite figure out how she had done it. I know there isn't much hope of us being able to figure that last part out, especially not with so much missing after the whole...y'know.

Honestly, I wasn't even planning to remake this thread. I figured that was it and I just had to trust that she knew what she was doing, because we weren't getting anywhere on here.

That is, until I saw that weird-ass post in the Anomalies section, the one with all the numbers. I literally avoid mirrors like the plague after reading some of the stuff that's been posted on this forum, and I'm always too curious for my own good, so I had to.

And it...kinda looks a LOT like something I found in one of my sister's boxes back in the day, so I ended up going back through that box and just pulling everything out. Now, I have no idea what all the numbers mean, but I did look through everything else.

There were:
-Two VHS tapes, labeled "November 2, 1995" and "November 3, 1995" respectively. Both are news reports, one about a series of murders, and the other about the disappearance of a girl from my family's old neighbourhood...and my sister's being interviewed in it. In the two decades since we've been back in contact, she never told me anything about it, so that really threw me.
-An old VHS player, which I immediately hooked up to her old TV so I could check out the tapes. Only realized after the fact that I PROBABLY should have checked it out first to make sure it wasn't anything up with it, but whatever.
-A Krakow newspaper from November 2, 1995, and two of the front page stories are covering the same things as the video taped news reports.
-A note pad with a list of random locations and other information. I don't know the significance of any of it, but apparently my sister really hates Nazis. Paperclipped to it was the sheet that was covered in those numbers.
-And a burnt Polaroid of what is definitely my sister in her teens, and three other girls. I'm pretty sure one of the other girls is the same girl that's in the missing person article in the newspaper.

I'll try to translate everything, but I'm going to start with the stuff that seems the most pertinent to this forum first.

Okay, so I figure it'd probably be best for me to post the two most pertinent things, just in case the giant list of numbers gets this thrown into the anomalies section like the other post was. These two sheets were paperclipped together. The first is a list of locations with a couple of random notes on it. The other is the giant list of numbers that I don't think my sister enjoyed having to write out.

Attached are the scans of the front pages of both sheets. However, she didn't really bother writing within the lines on the numbers sheet, so I decided to just type them out rather than uploading both sides of the sheet and making you all have to try to read this mess. Trust me, the other side is even worse.

I'll upload the newspaper tomorrow once I find a scanner big enough to handle it.

Okay, I was able to get it scanned, and ██████ was nice enough to help with the damaged photo as well.

Now, I didn't do the redactions on this newspaper. This is exactly how I found it, which is kinda weird, but...I don't know what any of this means at this point. I'm just winging it and hoping someone here knows. So, first I'll give everyone the translation of the newspaper articles, and then I'll share the photo.

This is my best attempt to translate. My Polish isn't perfect, so if my translation got a word or two wrong, I apologize.

Witnesses describe Satanic rituals, foul play

Article:
Kraków - Police are searching for a 15 year old Krakow girl who disappeared from her friends' apartment in ████████████ after a late night incident police are describing as "suspicious".

Described by her family as a quiet, studious girl with a love for fantasy and reading, ████████████ went missing roughly around midnight between October 31st and November 1st. She had been visiting three of her friends for a Halloween party, inspired by the North American tradition.
Frantic testimony from one of her friends suggested they had attempted a form of occult ritual based on the popular western board game ██████████████████, egged on by the eldest member of their group. During the ritual, they claim that ██████ disappeared suddenly, being replaced by a separate, unknown individual who immediately fled the scene alongside the older girl.

However, police are instead suggesting that a member of their friend group may have taken advantage of their belief in the supernatural, manipulating them with fake occult practices to distract while she and an accomplice did away with ██████.

The motive remains unknown.

Although two of the missing girl's friends were questioned and released by police, 18 year old ████████████ remains wanted for questioning.
Concerns still remain over what exactly happened. Several neighbours voiced their concerns over the group of friends. As one neighbour put it, "Those girls were always running around like witches in the dark. I'm not surprised they'd get caught up in something like this."

In spite of the neighbours' accusations, police believe the younger girls to be innocent of wrongdoing at this time, and have asked the public to please avoid occultist accusations against the victims.

The continuing spate of murders has left local police baffled. While the blame so far has been placed on organized crime, rumours of a serial killer have proven difficult to extinguish.

The graphic night time murder of ████████████ has particularly sparked growing suspicion after her dismembered body was found inside her ████████████ apartment last Monday after tenants broke down her door when they heard frantic screaming.

No arrests have so far been made for the recent murders, and public anxiety remains at an all-time high.

Now the Polaroid is kind of a weird one. My sister and ██████ are definitely in it, but I have no idea who either of the other two girls are, especially since the one on the right's been burned away.

██████ hasn't really been too keen on talking about it, either, but it was important enough to my sister that it was in the same box as all the rest of this stuff.

Also, again, I didn't draw on this, so that whole censoring thing wasn't my doing. This is exactly the way I found it.

I don't really know for sure, but I know she has a gold-coloured D20 on her shelf. If it's not that, maybe a piece of jewelry a friend got her? Something gold. I can't really tell.

Left is my sister. The one with the black hair is ██████, the one that's been helping me with the whole search for my sister. The one in the denim jacket, and the redhead in the burnt part, I have no idea, sorry.

This code intrigues me greatly. I am so glad that you translated the newspaper. As much as I would like to tackle learning another Indo-European language I am afraid I have the jitters trying another translation after what happened to me the last time. I hope it is still today and not some other day. Despite doing the ritual every day I still feel like I am in two places at once which is very disorienting. I hope to get to work on it today. If it is still today that is. I am so confused right now.

I have started work decoding the cypher. The number block code appears to correspond the list of locations in the format line number-word number-letter number. Using a Vigenere cypher system with the keyword: Zagrodno I was able to decipher the first block of numbers.

It reads: "a hermetically sealed vessel large enough for subject no matter current pose, buried two-plus feet deep, quicksilver-infused paraffin, painted"

Unfortunately my eyes have grown tired. I think at some point I developed the need for reading glasses. When I concentrate on where I am I have found several pairs of them scattered around the apartment. I have been trying to resist the notion that they are my own but I am afraid I am going to have to concede that they are. What other memories have I lost?

I see your point. I am sorry I startled you by bluntly putting out the cypher text like that.

To be honest, when I logged on I was certain this entire thread would not be here. I felt like I had dreamt the entire incident up. While I was working on deciphering the text I was back in Brooklyn working on translating the book somehow. The contents of her message felt...normal...for some reason as if I had translated it or things in that same vein before. I know that makes no sense and hence I had the feeling that it would all turn out to be a dream.

To be honest with you I am feeling very displaced today and am having trouble focusing on being here if that makes any sense. I think I may need to take a pause from the cypher for a bit until I feel less out of sorts.
