d██████ silencing bid:
"throw a handful of salt into a lighted candle. All eavesdroppers will hear is sizzling for as long as the candle is lit"
2/5 stars. works okay, but
a) breaks if you move the candle
b) doesn't mention the limit is on noise made within the lit area
c) gets salt all over the place, like who can get a whole handful of salt only into a tiny candle flame?

Hard to verify area of effect in daylight, but I guess over in d██████ they only share conspiracies by candlelight. (d██████?? cliche??? who would have guessed??) In which case, if they're THAT TYPE and half-lurking in Candlelight Ambiance and half-lurking in the shadow: the silencing bid won't cover your fart, asshole!

anyway, better silencing bid: 1) get any type of container that can close. 2) yell into container (incantation’s up to you but I prefer "FUCK OFF") 3) shake vigorously for desired duration.

obviously the louder the sealed shout, the more noise you can make under it. Portable, no mess!

Double the utility by putting snow in the jar. Keeping snowmelt in a sealed jar will muffle footsteps etc., and when you add in OP's incantation, other methods of eavesdropping are stymied too. Covers all bases.

OP with some unnatural forearm strength. Who wants to "shake a jar vigorously" for a whole conversation?

Best to discuss in a booth, and sprinkle rose water at the end of the booth to be kept secrets

Good advice! Theoretically, essence of any flower with fibonacci petals will work, but roses are one of the best for secrets.

Plus, they smell nice
